MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 25, 2006 – A free demo for Sword of the Stars, the highly anticipated 4X space strategy game from Destineer, Lighthouse Interactive and Kerberos Productions that promises to reinvigorate the 4X gaming category with multiplayer capability, is now making its worldwide premier on FilePlanet.

Sword of the Stars is developed by the core team behind the highly acclaimed title, Home World: Cataclysm and includes such new features as 3D star maps, random technology trees and real-time combat resolution in a 3D environment.

The demo will allow players to experience and explore the compelling Sword of the Stars universe as one of two races - the Human SolForce or the dreaded Tarkas Imperium. The demo will feature unlimited turns within a special spherical galaxy made up of 40 stars. Gameplay will be limited to fission era technology and 3 difficulty settings, but will include alliances, random encounters and a few surprises. Gamers will be able to play single player or go head to head in 4 player multiplayer on LAN or online.
