Close Combat: First to Fight Important note: Lobby server support will terminate on May 8, 2008.
To join a game using Direct IP:
Note: If there is no game at the specified IP address, then a "Connection Failed" dialog box is displayed. When you click OK, you are returned to the Main Menu Screen. Click Multiplayer and try entering the IP address again, using the steps above. If that doesn't work, you should contact the person hosting the game to verify the IP address for the host server.
Ports used by the game:
First to Fight connects to the Internet on the following ports by default:
First to Fight will run from behind most routers and Network Address Translation (NAT) devices. If you have difficulty connecting from behind a router, you should consult your router documentation to ensure that the ports listed above are not blocked for your Mac.
First to Fight does not offer automatic NAT negotiation of UPnP devices. If you have difficulties connecting to games or hosting a server behind this device, you should manually set it to forward the required ports to the IP address of the game computer behind the router.

Download the update: First to Fight 1.0.2 Update
Troubleshooting:
After successfully installing the game, I start the game, enter the CD Key, and the game crashes to the Desktop.
Resolution: Download and install the 1.0.2 update above.
I have a Mac with an ATI RADEON 8500/9000-series video card running OS X 10.2.8. During gameplay, the game occasionally quits with the text, "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds..." What's wrong?
Resolution: This error occurs when the ATI video drivers are outdated. Running the ATI driver update provided on your CD in the Extras folder will solve the problem. NOTE: Only run this driver update if you have OS X 10.2.8 and one of the aforementioned ATI video cards in your Mac.
I can't enable the "Decals and Shadows" option in the game settings.
Cause: This only occurs on systems running OS X 10.2.8 due to the different OpenGL engine used in that version.
After launching First to Fight, I get a black screen and the game does not seem to be responding.
Resolution: Go into your System Preferences->Displays and change Colors to Millions.
The game crashes at the end of loading a new level in OS X 10.2.8.
Cause: In certain hardware configurations that use OS X 10.2.8, setting rendering detail to "high" can cause the game to crash.
Resolution: From the main menu of the game, click "Options" and "Graphics." In the graphics settings menu, set "Rendering Detail" to "Medium" or "Low".
Frequently Asked Questions:
Does Close Combat: First to Fight for the Macintosh support multiplayer gaming with players on Windows-compatible PCs?
Answer: Yes. The Mac and PC versions support this feature.
Does my DSL/Cable router require special configuration to play the game over the Internet?
Answer: Most current DSL/Cable router products should not require any configuration to join Close Combat multiplayer servers on the Internet. To host a game server from your computer, it may be necessary to enable port forwarding for UDP port 7676 from your router to your computer that hosts the games. Please consult your router documentation for instructions on how to do this.
Why can't I see my weapon even though I have selected the option to show it?
Answer: Weapon rendering has been disabled on video cards below a Radeon 8500 or Geforce 3 Ti as it causes a serious performance hit.
